Aliases edit

The confusion about his name seems to come from the complexity of Arabic names. "al-Balawi" seems to be his Laqab or nickname. According Question by CIA interrogation by the police his name in his Jordanian passport that he used to enter Turkey was Homam Khalel Mohammad Abumallal. It's irrelevant but the number of his passport was E 530436,H 226969, 977 105843 --Tiraniyaya son (talk) 00:41, 30 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Al-Balawi had a history of supporting violent islamist causes. edit

His status as double/triple(*) agent makes it hard to determine what he really supported, he may have been posting a lot, but that may have been under orders from the Jordanian Secret Service. Dates as to when he became a double and or triple agent, or if he started off as a triple agent are unkown.

(*) I did not know triple agent existed, but I see it in the British press now.

Don't think anyone knows at the moment, but reliable sources may or may not make conjectures about it, which we can report. The only person who probably knew is now dead, and he would probably not tell us if he were still alive. (NB: please sign your comments on talk pages)  Cs32en  17:50, 6 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Wife edit

I thought the Interview with the wife was very interesting and told a lot about Balawi and the attack and that is why I translated it. I was surprised that Newsweek did not put out the whole interview on their English language website. You would think that people are interested in every single detail about this person. They show CNN reporters trying to get information talking through the door with his family but his wife gives a detailed description of Balawi and they don't care. It is interesting that the original interview is also not accessible right now. You can still read the translation of the full interview on http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Humam_Khalil_Abu-Mulal_al-Balawi&oldid=337261258 and use it as you see appropriate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tiraniyaya son (talkcontribs) 02:10, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your translation. I don't know where the best place to post it is. Perhaps Wikinews.org wikileaks.org, liveleak.com. Geo8rge (talk) 15:10, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I take my words back, CNN had an interview with her on January 21st. It was a long one hour interview but they too only revealed parts of it.--Tiraniyaya son (talk) 00:49, 30 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
It is interesting that he married a girl of a different nationality that he met online. You normally don't expect that from a conservative. You would expect him to marry in an arranged marriage to a girl chosen by his mother. He also comes out as very anti-social and totally obsessed about jihad.--Tiraniyaya son (talk) 01:07, 30 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
She denies knowing anything, but she has to. If she admits she knew anything she would be considered an accomplice. I think there are hints in the interview that he prepared her for this. He probably did not say her anything in the communications because he was afraid that it would be intercepted, and maybe it was. It would be interesting to know what happened to the money he received, which he probably did. It would not be honest to keep it and giving it all to his family would put them under suspicion. If it was just left in his bank account it might have been confiscated. I don't think he would transfer it to someone else because that would reveal his intentions. If it was cashö, he might have hidden it. But then the serial numbers of the banknotes might be tracked.--Tiraniyaya son (talk) 01:07, 30 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

A Turkish reporter stayed at their house for 21 days while in Jordan [1]. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tiraniyaya son (talkcontribs) 00:47, 30 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
