Talk:Howard Wilkinson (whistleblower)

Fixing Link in References section edit

Please change: The existing link to the "Meet the Whistleblower" page in the References section

to read as: "Meet the Whistleblower" from Kohn, Kohn and Colapinto.

I am using the connected contributor (paid) template because I am serving as a paid editor: I am employed by Kohn, Kohn, and Colapinto, LLP. I am also associated with the National Whistleblower Center. I am receiving compensation for work on article edits. Please let me know if there's anything else I need to do to make sure my edits are proposed in good faith and in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This information is also disclosed on my user page and my user talk page. Please let me know if there's anything else I need to add: I want to make sure I'm using this template correctly. This edit will just rectify an existing link to lead to the correct, more relevant webpage. Sa 3003 (talk) 19:28, 24 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • The title was changed to "Meet the Whistleblowers" (plural) and the URL was changed.
  • That section of text requires additional information which should be proposed to be added to the article. The claim regarding the "violation of Whistleblower protections" does not specify which governing entity (i.e., which country) has provided those protections. As this involves an Estonian company but is read about largely by readers from outside of Estonia, this should be specified.

Some proposed changes: adding an internal Wikipedia link edit

Information to be added or removed: Please add the internal Wikipedia link on whistleblowers to this text:

"Howard Wilkinson is a British whistleblower whose actions exposed the 2018 Danske Bank money laundering scandal.[1]"

Extended content

Explanation of issue: I think that inserting internal Wikipedia links aids the reader in tracking information about the subject, and this will also lead to more clicks and pageviews for Wikipedia.

References supporting change: Here's a 2018 article about the whistleblowing event from The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/sep/26/danske-bank-whistleblower-was-ex-baltics-trading-head-howard-wilkinson

Here's a 2018 article from Reuters on the whistleblowing event: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-danske-bank-moneylaundering/danske-bank-whistleblower-says-his-warnings-went-unheeded-idUSKCN1NO0ZR

And here's an article updated in Nov. 2019 about Wilkinson's whistleblowing disclosure from a local news station: https://www.kltv.com/2018/11/19/whistleblower-danish-banking-scandal-bank-ignored-me/

I would also like to disclose that I am serving as a paid editor: I am employed by Kohn, Kohn, and Colapinto, LLP. I am receiving compensation in the form of payment for hourly work on article edits. I've used the Connected Contributor template for this reason. This information is also disclosed on my user page and my user talk page. Thanks!
