Inaccurate statement, request edit edit

>In most of the world, the term hockey by itself refers to field hockey, while in Canada, the United States, Russia and most of Eastern and Northern Europe, the term usually refers to ice hockey.

Most of Europe and 3 of the largest countries is not a minority of the world. I believe it should be reworded to something like the below.

"In Canada, the United States, Russia and much of Europe, the term usually refers to ice hockey while many other countries, including the U.K., the term refers to field hockey." 2600:1004:B029:3E3B:2CC2:3C08:EE1B:4D47 (talk) 15:35, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hockey, the field version, is one of the most popular sports in India, a country which on its own has a population greater than all of those you mention combined. HiLo48 (talk) 02:48, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Well no, because it's still false. In the UK and most of Europe hockey actually refers to field or floor hockey, not ice hockey. The rest of the world does not automatically conform to American tastes. Daisne (talk) 19:30, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please remove this phrase:

they share broad characteristics of two teams playing against each other to propel a ball or disk into a goal with a stick

and add this in its place:

they share broad characteristics of two opposing teams using a stick to propel a ball or disk into a goal

It's somewhat shorter, and it's simpler if "propel" is placed next to the propulsion method ("a stick") rather than the ball/disk and goal separating them. 192.180.91.15 (talk) 11:20, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
