The result of the move request was: Move, since it has been unanimously reasoned by participants that the word "Song" remains ambiguous in nature, as it generally means a form of music where as the the article describing a historical documents. Drat8sub (talk) 02:22, 31 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

History of SongHistory of Song (Yuan dynasty) – There are many meanings of "Song" (both capitalized and not). This specific book is far from the only potentially notable use of this phrase. For example, potentially ambiguous topics include Song District, Sarawak#History, Song (Chinese surname)#History, Song (state)#History, History of the Song dynasty, Song (airline)#History, not to mention the History of music, which covers the history of song as a form of music. I would move this article to create a disambiguation page at this title. BD2412 T 23:05, 24 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Support per nominator state above. While it takes search "History of song" in Google, it seems that the title implies to retell history about "Song" as form of music. In wikipedia article about it, Song is a musical composition intended to be performed by the human voice. This is often done at distinct and fixed pitches (melodies) using patterns of sound and silence. Songs contain various forms, such as those including the repetition and variation of sections. IMO, this title should be actually redirect to History of music which includes it that, create a disambiguation page at this title is not problem for me. 180.254.173.224 (talk) 00:17, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. Convincing arguments made for the need to disambiguate. Rreagan007 (talk) 07:55, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Support and perhaps move Book of Song too. In ictu oculi (talk) 19:20, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom. For many Westerners, the term song would more likely be associated with the form of music than anything else it could refer to. LSGH (talk) (contributions) 09:47, 26 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Support The former title should be redirected to History of music as "Song" in English could means a form of music (noun: singing, prof:singer, etc). If this article moved to new title, that redirected "history of song" needs to be discussed in redirects for discussion. 110.137.184.3 (talk) 05:36, 27 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
    • We can resolve the redirect issue in this discussion. For the reasons stated in the nomination, I would suggest that capitalized "History of Song" is ambiguous. BD2412 T 13:24, 27 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
