Move proposal edit

Currently Hershey redirects to Hershey, Pennsylvania, which hat notes to this page which has (disambiguation) tacked on. I'm not seeing any valid reason why this page is not at Hershey instead. There are three localities named Hershey, at the minimum, and I suspect just as many people who look for Hershey are looking for the chocolate maker as may be the city, or any of the other links here. I am there for proposing that this page be moved to Hershey and then the redirect note on Hershey, Pennsylvania can be removed if desired. Thoughts? Objections? -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 19:49, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have no objections. Don't see a reason why it's pointing to the settlement anyway. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:13, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hershey (disambiguation)Hershey — As suggested above, although not because the other settlements are in any way on par with to the one in Pennsylvania, but because there are just too many other things named Hershey -- the community in PA, the company (or companies), and Milton Hershey himself are the most likely targets, but I wouldn't dare try to distinguish which of the three is primary. • Support the primary is almost certainly the chocolate company though. 76.66.192.55 (talk) 03:30, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. I'm working on cleaning up the disambiguation page, but I agree that Hershey could easily be either the place or the company, and a DAB page is a reasonable place to land upon typing in Hershey. Ocaasi (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 11:37, 13 July 2010 (UTC).Reply
  • Support I am also pretty confident that if there is a primary topic, it's the chocolate company. I very much doubt it's the city. Propaniac (talk) 20:36, 14 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Strong support You could hardly find a better example for landing people directly at the dab page with the unspecified title, with so many names for places and different other stuff; strongly oppose choosing the chocolate company (which is not a household name outside North America) or any other as a primary, it will lead to endless debating over what are the potential contenders and which should be chosen that will be unsatisfying no matter the result and will be a thorough waste of everyone's time. walk victor falk talk 13:06, 18 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Description edit

I removed and replaced the problematic description added by halifkk. As David C Taylor pointed out (with his rather unprofessional and destructive edit), a good portion of the text was not cited and contained clearly false information with copy-edit errors. I replaced this with some helpful text, but it could easily be reverted to a simple "'Hershey' may refer to:" Andrew.carnes (talk) 23:28, 15 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
