British Ceylon

What is the basis that Intoronto1125, keeps reverting my edits here ? The use of British Ceylon, has been done with no refs to support said claim and is POV pushing. Cossde (talk) 03:15, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

British Ceylon is more appropriate than the Ceylon while it directs to Sri Lanka. It is more specific he is a "Ceylonese Tamil" than just "Ceylonese". If you want to keep the Colleges chronological order, please edit them separately rather than mixing with POV edits.Sudar123 (talk) 06:08, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Colleges chronological order could stay. However British Ceylon and Ceylonese are not PoV as there is no refs to prove that he was born in British Ceylon and use of nationality Ceylonese is better per WP:OPENPARAGRAPH than the use of ethnicity Ceylon Tamil. Therefore I must say your comments above as well as the edits associated with it are the POV edits here. Cossde (talk) 08:07, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Considering "Ceylonese Tamil" than just "Ceylonese", nationality should have priority over ethnicity in the lead section. However in this article, and the others, it should be British Ceylon as the country he was born in, because that is the formal name and Ceylon is a redirect.--Blackknight12 (talk) 09:53, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Given the lack of refs to H. W. Thambiah being born in a "British Ceylon" I can not see how it is the formal name. Cossde (talk) 12:47, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Since over a month has passed and no one has given refs the suggest he was born in a British Ceylon and to keep the article inline with WP:OPENPARAGRAPH. I will be making the relevant changes. Please revert if you can add RS to back his birth in a British Ceylon. Cossde (talk) 09:11, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
