Talk:Hell's Kitchen (American TV series) season 10

External News Sources edit

I see someone moved the references (footnotes) regarding individual chef contestants from the Chefs section to a general References section. I don't care for this.

  • The Chef section's line "Source:[1] 18 chefs competed in season 10." is barely a sentence.
  • The previous format placed the link to an outside reference with the specific chef(s) mentioned in the reference. The convenience of finding out about a specific chef is now lost. You'd have to read all the links to find out about your favorite chef.
  • The Chef - Reference footnote style was used in the Season 9 descriptions.

So, should we reverse this change? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brookfield53045 (talkcontribs) 21:30, 10 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've restored the refs. Ideally, articles shouldn't have either a "See also" or "External links" section; all relevant content should be addressed in the prose. Moving valid references to the external links section only serves to worsen the primary sources "problem". --AussieLegend (talk) 11:31, 11 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ausie do you have a source for why the page should've formatted that way? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.25.44.235 (talk) 19:46, 13 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Contestant Progress Section edit

Per the consensus that was established over the past seasons at Talk:Hell's Kitchen (U.S.)#Contestant Progress sections I have excised the special styling and footnoting as it makes the table unnecessarily busy and copies information available elsewhere in the page. The progress section is a summary of the content that lives in the episode recap. Therefore as nobody's discussed I'm reading that the existing consensus is still in force. Hasteur (talk) 13:47, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

I observe that after I brought it to the talk page, Krill decided to revert on their own and miss the point of BRD and established consensus. I know I haven't been actively wielding the consensus and Best of Best and Best of Worst colorings have wormed their way in. I indend to remove the colorings and point at the above consensus discussion and here to get the re-evaluation going again. I strongly reccomend that all users stop adding as the colors as the consensus established previously is still on the books and it is the responsibility of those wanting to add content to justify it's reasoning for inclusion. Hasteur (talk) 18:58, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Since nobody has come to the talk page to refute the previous consensus I am going to read it as still in effect and will be executing a revert to the prior consensus (No extra footnotes, no extra colors for Best of Best, Best of Worst) once my 3RR has expired from yesterday. I implore all users to come discuss the consensus rather than blind reversion of the consensus. Hasteur (talk) 11:56, 13 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

On the note of the contestant progress section, can people PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP SAYING THAT SO-AND-SO IS LEAVING IN EPISODE 7/8! So far I have seen Tiffany supposedly being "eliminated" and now it's Barbie. Neither chef has been eliminated yet and until that episode airs, there is no confirmation on whether they have actually left or not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.174.194.169 (talk) 10:02, 21 June 2012 (UTC) Roshni is gone 8:57 PM 26 June 2012 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.239.227.85 (talk) 00:57, 27 June 2012 (UTC) I gathered that much. The issue was more that people were saying so-and-so had left even though the episode hadn't actually aired. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.174.194.169 (talk) 01:10, 4 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I noticed that the table colors have reverted back to its original state with the colors. Is the blue color for the WIN really necessary? AuroraTerra (talk)21:27, 3 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

As we always used various colors in past seasons, I think we should revert back to the multicolor format, as it makes the standings and results more easier to read. Just using colors for the nominations and eliminations is not enough. -- azumanga (talk) 16:37, 5 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Whoops, I just reverted them again before reading this, should I have held off there? BDasher54 (talk) 01:52, 7 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Also, in addition, I've noticed that the blue has been re-added to the other 9 seasons as well, but I refrained from reverting the rest of them just in case. I'll happily support whatever the majority decision is. BDasher54 (talk) 03:39, 7 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Having all the extra colors makes it a clown's technicolor yawn (vomit) instead of a concise answer to the progress of contestants. Team Nominations, Ramsay Nominations, Eliminations, and Quits are plenty of information along with the Win/Loose/BoB/BoW info in the box Hasteur (talk) 12:35, 7 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Faces on die? edit

I can add what the 12 letters were on the die that they were tossing in Episode 11, what do you all think?Naraht (talk) 19:47, 11 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

How does the letter out of the die help advance the primary narrative (A Reality TV series where chefs compete for a prize) of the story? Hasteur (talk) 13:08, 18 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
OK, I did look back to previous seasons, should it reference that something similar was done in Season 6 & 7?Naraht (talk) 18:05, 18 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Facebook likes section table... edit

I *really* don't think it adds anything to the article and is constantly changing.Naraht (talk) 16:24, 20 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

No, it doesn't seem encyclopaedic. --AussieLegend (talk) 07:12, 21 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Winner Leaked? edit

Has the winner of MasterChef and Hell's Kitchen been inadvertently leaked? Taping for both seasons has finished, yet recently two 'current' contestants of both series (Frank Mirando - MasterChef and Dana Cohen - Hell's Kitchen) rang the closing bell at the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. Http://www.globenewswire.com/newsroom/news.html?d=262758. Really, why would non winning contestants, after the series has finished taping, be treated with such a tribute? Should this be added to the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.192.243.119 (talk) 17:05, 25 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Well, they were both cut the week of August 27, so I guess it was just a stunt. Brookfield53045 04:29, 31 August 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brookfield53045 (talkcontribs)

BoW/BoB? edit

So please forgive me if I'm missing something obvious, but what do BoW and BoB mean in the table that shows the results from each show? I couldn't find it in the legend for this or Season 1. Seems like the page is talking in some sort of "Hell's Kitchen Code" - can someone please add explanations for these abbreviations to the page? Thanks! Voxcapitis (talk) 02:17, 12 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

BoB means "Best of the Best" and BoW means "Best of the Worst". These were used to select a leader of a losing team who had to nominate a teammate(s) for elimination. Brookfield53045 13:26, 24 August 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brookfield53045 (talkcontribs)

Miscounting Clemenza 's times in front of Ramsey edit

In episode 1016 (the first with the Black Jackets), Ramsey asked Clemenza how many times he had been up there, Clemenza wasn't sure, but Ramsey said it had been six. We only have five in the table. Anyone with any idea where the discrepency is?Naraht (talk) 16:43, 15 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I just checked all of the episodes and it appears that Ramsay can't count. The table in the article is correct. --AussieLegend (talk) 17:02, 15 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Contestant's Elimination Statements edit

I have no problem with them being there, but for the love of God, who put the quotes there without punctuation and without quotation marks? This is BASIC, first-grade stuff. And why are all of the words capitalized? 24.62.8.162 (talk) 22:41, 4 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
