Capitalisation of species names edit

There is no wikipedia standard for zoology (and numerous unresolved discussions) and if there is one for botany I am not aware of it. I have attempted to use the same style as in Fauna of Scotland i.e. generic names e.g. whitebeam are lower case, but species names e.g. Cut-leaved Whitebeam are upper case. Every time I've put a species name in lower case, it gets capitalised by someone, that's why I changed it - I can't be bothered with an edit war. "Catacol whitebeam" and the Latin name redirect here.--MacRusgail 20:48, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
