Opening comment edit

Some one changed the size of the bomb.

http://www.sacbee.com/static/weblogs/crime/archives/016447/.html

"Birges, 74, died last week at the Southern Nevada Correctional Center in Jean - 16 years and one day after a 1,000-pound, homemade bomb was rolled into Harvey's Resort Hotel/Casino with a $3 million extortion note."

Again diffrent size...

" The first five people interviewed in front of the casino Thursday had no idea that a quarter century ago a bomb containing 600 pounds of dynamite blew a crater 50 feet by 30 feet through five floors of Harvey's Wagon Wheel and damaged every window in the 250-room hotel-casino."

Contradiction edit

  • from Stateline:
    • "The event ended when the bomb was set off in a controlled explosion after the disarming failed,"
  • from bombing:
    • "The attempt to disarm the bomb failed and it exploded,"

I don't know which is true McKay (talk) 21:42, 8 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

This article appears to support the latter statement McKay (talk) 21:48, 8 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lake Tahoe bombing? edit

The last sentence of the first paragraph in the John Birges section indicates that the "[Harvey's] bombing was a primary piece of evidence linking him to the Lake Tahoe bombing." No Lake Tahoe bombing is referenced anywhere else in the article.

Picture of the device? edit

Is there a picture of the device we can use in this article? I would imagine that the FBI would have taken lots of photographs of it at the time as part of their investigation, and also that any such photograph would thus be in the public domain as a work of the U.S. federal government. -- The Anome (talk) 13:09, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

What 'men'? edit

The bomb is described. One guy is described. So what's with the first paragraph saying

...when several men masquerading as photocopier deliverers planted an elaborately booby trapped bomb...

Several men? Not one man? Space aliens? Not a further explanation? Shenme (talk) 05:32, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
