Please expand article edit

hi friends, I would like to know more about hardwired control logic with circuits.

citation lesson edit

removed citation for the sentence "this makes it possible, for example, to download additional stitch patterns for a small fee". a citation is never needed to support a possibility, whether said example is extant or not. a possibility is not a fact. only facts require citations. 71.174.147.87 (talk) 17:11, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Copyright violation edit

This article is copied virtually verbatim (without crediting the source) from Computer Architecture and Organization (John Patrick Hayes, WCB/McGraw-Hill, 1998) The relevant chapter from this book has also been uploaded (illegally) to scribd.com and appears here. If anyone wants to re-write this article please read and follow all the instructions and guidance now on Hardwired control Be sure to click "show" under each heading to see them all. You must re-write the article on this temporary page. Note: this copyvio is long-standing and mas been here for more than a year. - Voceditenore (talk) 09:09, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Article History: (main edits, filtering out minor changes)
1. Created 22-April-2007 by WP:COPYPASTE from COMPUTER ORGANIZATION by Hamacher, ISBN 0-07-025683-7. Section 7.4, Hardwired control, page 425, look it up on amazon.com (ISBN 0072320869)—at least he cited it.
2. Responding to Wikify, Cleanup, Unreferenced and copypaste tags, a new editor "fixes" the problem on 30-June-2007 by WP:COPYPASTE from Computer Architecture and Organization by Hayes (see above).
3. On 15-February-2008, an editor suggests that this article be merged into control unit. Note that that article has a section titled Hardwired_Control which points to this article as the main article.
4. on 26-May-2008, yet another editor decides that not enough has been copy-pasted from Hayes, and copies more.
5. Then we have several off-topic edits, relating to things like rock bands and biology...
6. on 11-January-2010, yet another editor copy-pastes yet more content from Hayes.
7. 21-October-2010, the merge tag is removed.
8. On 14-October-2011, two references are added (with the footnote tags at the beginning of apparently randomly chosen sentences).[1][2]
9. On 17-October-2011, the Copyvio message goes up. There it is.

Clicking the ISBN for Safwat Zaky's book, I find it is simply an international edition of the Hamacher book (Zaky is a co-author). The Godse book can be previewed on Google books, or searched on amazon (under different ISBNs). So all we have is three sources from which to rewrite the article, two copy-pasted to the article but not cited, and one cited but apparently not used to write the article.

Or lacking a rewrite, I suggest redirecting Hardwired control to Control_unit#Hardwired_Control. Wbm1058 (talk) 20:24, 20 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Redirect to Control unit edit

My vote is just redirect it. I'm in process of working on control unit and related articles. The hardwired control section of the control unit article may be expanded in the future. Wbm1058 (talk) 18:09, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I "rewrote" the article in the temporary area. ;) Wbm1058 (talk) 18:24, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Look out for possible copyright violations in this article edit

This article has been found to be edited by students of the Wikipedia:India Education Program project as part of their (still ongoing) course-work. Unfortunately, many of the edits in this program so far have been identified as plain copy-jobs from books and online resources and therefore had to be reverted. See the India Education Program talk page for details. In order to maintain the WP standards and policies, let's all have a careful eye on this and other related articles to ensure that no material violating copyrights remains in here. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 13:02, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
