Dear Sir, I would like to express, that there was "no chance for Mr. Reichelt". 99 points behind Didier Cuche, therefore Mr. Reichelt had to achieve a victory and Mr. Cuche had to gain non point (in the Season Finals, only the best 15 placed racers will gain points). It was questionable if Mr. Reichelt could achieve a win (in order to catch 100 points); but still more there was no doubt that Mr. Cuche couldn't capture points. Place 15 had been enough to do (gaining 16 points), and everyone said, Mr. Cuche would be able to accomplish blindfolded.
The race: Didier Défago, bib number 13, did go in lead. Mr. Reichelt (bib number 16) did overtook with the smallest possible margin (but it had been enough if he would have finished equal with Défago - but being 0.02 sec. behind Défago, the issue had been over). Mr. Cuche (bib number 21) did only finish twelveth (1.22 sec. behind Reichelt) and did slip off to place 15, when Christof Innerhofer (bib number 25) had finished. The next starter was Cuche's team-mate Daniel Albrecht, but he of all people became that one racer to push off Cuche (Mr. Albrecht was 0.44 sec. better than Cuche, was clocked tenth). I would like to cit. the German Wikipedia:
When he did claim the win in the Downhill Race at Hahnenkamm he did it being injured. Maybe, he by himself didn't know about injury (resp. about degree of injury). Nobody (within the media representatives) did take notice - it was announced on the next day that he did undergo a medical inspection; medicals did diagnose an injury of the spinal disk, therefore Mr. Reichelt had to take an early bath but he was able to continue in the season 2014/15. - By the way: Win on January 25th, 2014, was the first win for Austria at a Hahnenkamm Downhill Race since Michael Walchhofer's triumph in January 2006 Skiscout (talk) 16:43, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
