"Dollar" vs $ edit

A few sections say things like "165 million dollar" instead of "$165 million", and should be fixed. However, I don't know if they're US or Canadian dollars. Anyone? --AW (talk) 13:26, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Eric v. Lola edit

I'd like to see an entry about the Eric v. Lola case in Quebec, which is famous legal dispute involving the status of de facto spouses. The Quebec superior court ruled in favour of the ex-spouse (Rizia Moreira) and gave de facto partners virtually the same rights as married couples.

Anyways, I'm wondering if it's appropriate to talk about it now, because there is a publication ban in Canada which bars the press from mentioning Laliberté or his ex-spouse. But since Wikipedia is an internet site that is primarily based in the United States, I figure that the publication ban would probably not apply to it.

It was easy to figure out that Laliberté was involved in the case because the media mentioned that Eric happened to be a billionaire. While there are only six billionaires in Quebec, Laliberté is the only one who is young enough to be a bachelor. 132.208.143.98 (talk) 21:43, 15 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm pretty sure a ban aimed at the press in Quebec cannot be legally enforced against Wikipedia. The main challenge here might be finding sufficient reliable sources to establish the connection between Laliberté and the case while observing Wikipedia's guidelines against original research and specifically synthesis. Blogs typically don't count as reliable sources due to their lack of editorial oversight, accountability, etc. Has any publication outside the blogosphere documented Laliberté's involvement in the case? Anyway, given the potential impact on the rights of common-law partners, I would agree that this subject merits its own Wikipedia article. AtticusX (talk) 14:22, 16 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Just an fyi/update, but the top court ruled on Eric v. Lola today, and ruled in favour of Laliberté (aka "Eric"), asserting that Quebeckers have the right to decide indepedently whether they want to run their relationships as marriages or otherwise. As of right now, ommon-law partners officially do not have the right to spousal support/division of assets that married partners enjoy. mrs smartygirl | Talk 01:31, 26 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

as a street performer, Guy Laliberté was known to be mostly a cracheur de feu, (fire-eater). He is quite famous for his performances as a cracheur de feu so this should be included in this bio. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.114.168.108 (talk) 17:00, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Full Tilt Poker edit

I wonder why there is a World Poker Tour box on this page, when he has won no titles and has no mention on either Full Tilt Poker or World Poker Tour? I don't think most participants have these. 2604:2000:9FC0:7:45DA:95DE:7CD1:C697 (talk) 00:19, 4 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
