Requested Move edit

{{adminhelp}} This article should be moved to Guru Hargobind. He is referred to that way throughout english literature.[1][2][3] also this.[4]

(edit conflict) Hi, and thanks for following my advice and posting here. For a local discussion like this, you don't need an {{adminhelp}} template. What you're trying to do here is get input from other editors, so you don't need to solicit an admin's help. As I said on IRC, if there are no objections after a couple days, you can list your request at Wikipedia:Requested moves. (P.S. On talk pages, you should always sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~)) Robert Skyhawk (T C B) 23:46, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

File:Guruhargobindsoora.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion edit

An image used in this article, File:Guruhargobindsoora.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:Guruhargobindsoora.jpg)

Content from the Turban article EOS edit

I also removed "The Sikhs began to think of themselves as equals of the ruling Mughals" added by the IP, after some hesitation whether to keep it or remove it. I can verify this on page 370 of the The Encyclopedia of Sikhism, which states "By the time of the Sixth Master, Guru Hargobind (1595-1644), turban wearing Sikhs began to think themselves equals of the beturbaned ruling class, the Mughals". I removed it because it seems undue and unencyclopedic in the sense that it implies "Sikhs did not think of themselves as equals of Mughals" before. Equality has been part of the Sikh thought and it is best we avoid implying the opposite. Comments welcome from the IP who added this, if she or he wishes to clarify. Error in phonetic transcription? edit

As far as I can tell the IPA diacritic for 'non-syllabic' is used where it should be 'dental' NearlyDrNash (talk) 19:54, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
