Unclear wording of father's description

This article says Greg Brown's father was "KRON News Anchorman Art Brown". What does that mean? There seems to be a page mentioning that expression on another website. Text identical to a portion of that on that site seems to have been added in an edit whose edit summary says it's adding an obituary. I'm not sure if that page would be a reliable source, but I feel some other sources have been made unavailable to people in the part of the world I am in, meaning someone else will have to try and see if they can find up-to-date information. I'll be removing the copied paragraph, but it seems the person may be dead, but he wasn't when the sources currently referenced were written. Pretended leer (talk) 09:18, 3 October 2018 (UTC)

User:Pretended leer Thanks for your message. I have had very little to do with developing this article, and so I have no attachment to it, nor any vested interest in preserving the current prose. I just wish that edit summaries generally gave better explanations for the amendments, especially when such a substantial proportion of an article is affected. And when the issues of concern are relatively minor, then it is generally preferable to attempt to fix it, rather than deleting entire sections. If there are concerns that the information is not correct, then the edit summary should say that. If there are concerns that the section is inadequately referenced, then all that is needed is a "citation needed" tag. We should all be trying to expand or enhance articles rather than simply delete entire paragraphs, or in some cases entire sections. In this particular case, obituaries are widely seen as a genuine and useful source but some effort should be made to triangulate the information provided because there is a risk that the obituary may have been written, at least in part, by a family member or close acquaintance of the deceased person. If alternative sources exist, but for whatever reason, you cannot acccess them, then the simple addition of a "citation neeeded" tag will act as a flag to other editors that more sourcing is required. BronHiggs I've replaced the paragraph with a summary. I left out some facts to keep the text consistent and some because of unclear language in the source. I guess I could have researched who the father was (especially if he was notable). I also don't like taking a lot of information from one source. – Pretended leer {talk} 19:09, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
