The Gramophone edit

Why is this magazine called "The Gramophone" in en.wikipedia? It's name is pretty clearly "Gramophone": http://www.gramophone.co.uk/about.asp?sect=2 A look at the picture in the article (or their website address or whatever) would also do. - 62.134.213.186 14:57, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Criticism of Gramophone Magazine edit

One reason Gramophone has been criticized is a perceived pro-British bias by its reviewers. Sound from American labels has been frequently panned as "trans-Atlantic". This bias was highlighted when critic Bryce Morrison Jeremy Nicholas wrote a number of laudatory reviews of British pianist Joyce Hatto. The recordings turned out to be fakes, and Morrison had given negative reviews of the recordings when they had originally appeared (credited to the actual pianists).THD3 (talk) 18:40, 13 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

No mention of Sir Compton Mackenzie? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 22:28, 5 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

He was namechecked in the intro. I added the length of his editorship -- didn't find a good source, I imagine his presence in that seat was taken for granted! Wire723 (talk) 12:20, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
