The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. The result of the move request was: moot-ish. WP:IAR early close. Per the discussion below, the badminton article was at the ambiguous title as the result of a cut-and-paste move, which was reverted by one of the commenters below. Then, the content was moved back to its original title, Grace Gao (badminton). And then ... a WP:DABNAME issue occurred as a result of Grace Gao redirecting to Grace Gao (disambiguation), which I have fixed. Due to the uncontested support for the previous status quo per the discussion, I’m closing this discussion in the spirit of WP:BRD due to the page locations becoming malformed overtime, but have since been corrected. (@Stvbastian: If you wish to have Grace Gao (badminton) moved to Grace Gao [which also involves moving Grace Gao to Grace Gao (disambiguation)], please see Wikipedia:Requested moves for how to start a proper discussion.) Grace GaoGrace Gao (badminton) – There are two articles about people called Grace Gao, neither of which, it seems, have priority over the other in terms of which should be "primary topic". Moving the content of this article to "Grace Gao (badminton)" (following article naming conventions: e.g., Michelle Li (badminton)) would distinguish the Grace Gao this article refers to from Grace Gao (human rights activist) — with Grace Gao (disambiguation) enabling people to find which Grace Gao they are looking for. This would be following similar precedent of, for example, Alexandra Bruce (badminton) (disambiguation); Michael Fuchs (badminton) (disambiguation); Kevin Li (badminton) (disambiguation); Michelle Li (badminton) (disambiguation). • Support, no clear primary topic. —Xezbeth (talk) 07:50, 12 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Wait, this is messier than I thought. Grace Gao is a copy of the actual article Grace Gao (badminton), so it should be deleted ASAP and the dab page can be moved to the base term. —Xezbeth (talk) 07:53, 12 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
It was a copy-and-paste move by Stvbastian (talk · contribs). Stvbastian, don't do that, you're only making more work for others cleaning up after your mess. The duplication should be gone now. I've left Grace Gao pointing at the disambiguation page but we should still continue the discussion to determine whether there is a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. —David Eppstein (talk) 22:05, 12 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. No primary topic. Move Grace Gao (disambiguation) over the existing Grace Gao, with redirect. Nick Number (talk) 22:45, 12 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
