Gordon Chesney Wilson was born in Wimmera, Australia
The Wimmera is a region, not a town. It is the south western part of Victoria. I would re-word this to "Gordon Chesney Wilson was born in the Wimmera region of Victoria, Australia".- Thanks, my knowledge of Australia is very sparse!
- Actually, we can do better than this. He was born at Longerenong, Wilson's homestead.[1] Longerenong is near Horsham, Victoria, at the junction of junction of the Wimmera River and Yarriambiack Creek. The house still stands; today it is the campus of Longerenong College.[2]
- Have added Longerenong, although I'm not sure the source backs up the house being the college campus - our article in fact says that the original college buildings, whatever they were, were destroyed by fire in 1940.

Where does this 1 August date come from? All my sources give the birth date as 3 August. eg. [3][4]- The Virtual War Memorial Australia states DOB as 1 August, and I think one other source I read did as well. Having looked at the sources you kindly provide as well as the others I already have, I think the 3 August sources vastly outweigh the 1 Augusts.

We don't have ranching in Australia. He would be described as a "grazier" or a"pastoralist". Although cattle may have been important, they are not mentioned in his biography or obituary, which talk about his sheep, goats and salmon.[5][6]- Wow, possibly owning the most sheep in the world is quite the boast! The Roberts source says "In 1852, at the age of twenty, he had been persuaded by his brother to emigrate to Australia. Here, after working as a miner, he had made his fortune cattle ranching." Used the AuDB source to adapt this more broadly to call him a pastoralist.
