Some of the tags on this review may be reactions to the unashamedly tear-jerker nature of the movie, rather than to how the article is written. I agree that taking content from outside reviews would be preferable, but the this is a good description of the movie (with my additions). The theme is that poverty alone, without unusual sickness, bad luck or character flaws, is enough to destroy people. The character of the movie (and the article) evolves from that. David R.
