Inclusion of J-pop in genre parameter

I propose that the genre "J-pop" should be included in the genre parameter inside the infobox. SNSD has 3 full-length Japanese albums, two of which – Girls & Peace and Love & Peace – consists of entirely original Japanese songs. Also, Billboard here explicitly says that the group has a presence in the J-pop industry. ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 21:08, 6 July 2020 (UTC)

I can see the argument, but I disagree with including J-pop as a genre. They're a K-pop group that also releases Japanese material. I don't consider them part of the J-pop industry. DragonFury (talk) 21:19, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
Mentions of the group having a presence in the J-pop industry are also shown here. Sorry, but with all due respect, information from sources overpowers opinions. ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 21:37, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
I support including it, they have released two entire albums within that genre. Alex (talk) 22:37, 6 July 2020 (UTC)

Paragraph about acting activities

I suggest writing a brief paragraph about the members' acting careers in the "Subgroup and solo endeavors" section because four of them are active as actresses and they also had acting projects during group activities. Solemn Penance (talk) 05:06, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

2010, 2017 and 2022 special events

Should we add their special events in the concerts sections under a new subsections "special events"? 2010 Japan Showcase [1][2][3], 2017 Holiday to Remember [1][2], 2022 Long Lasting Love (just announced) Solemn Penance (talk) 06:03, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

Change active date to 2021

Given their variety show reunion in 2021 and their Forever 1 album preparations beginning in the same year, I propose to change their resumption of activities from 2022 to 2021. Solemn Penance (talk) 09:15, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

"Active" generally refers to a group being publicly engaged in their primary activity: releasing music. Plenty of groups have had one-off reunions on variety or even musicals shows, that's not the same a being active. Recent example: Sistar performed on several occasions without being considered as active. DragonFury (talk) 09:58, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

Drop the page protection because they are a active group

Currently (by the time this was posted) they are a active kpop group so currently any type of new information could come in at any moment. Page protection at this stage only hampers people who use the site. Page protection isn't needed for this type of page until either the group has absolutely disbanded or the page is vandalized extremely often (that means more times than "El C" has cited (20) as reasons to protect the page). We don't need a administrator abusing their power (El C) we just need our fellow wikipedians checking in from time to time like they always do and have always done. 2601:441:8082:22B0:C7:AD7D:FE8D:B5F9 (talk) 04:37, 9 January 2023 (UTC)

There is evidence that vandalism, adding unsourced information, etc. by anonymous editors continued after the page protection was dropped earlier. The page protection was reimposed after persistent vandalism occurred. This isn't an abuse of powers. An abuse would be the page being fully admin protected when it isn't needed. If you have an update you would like to insert into the article, do use the {{edit request}} template with the information you like to insert, backed with sources. – robertsky (talk) 04:58, 9 January 2023 (UTC)

Instead of "Originally a nine-piece ensemble, Jessica departed from the group in September 2014" ("dangling" clause), write "The group was originally a nine-piece ensemble, but Jessica departed from the group in September 2014." Fre3831 (talk) 10:08, 2 April 2023 (UTC)

So it can be vandalized and/or disrupted even more, no thanks on that, the nonsense caused by WP:NOTHERE editors (mainly IP and newly registered) to this page over the years is more than enough and we don't need to see more of it, if ever ... so peaceful. In addition, also noticed that you already gotten your answered previously as seen with here in the very same topic of concern you posted previously, please do not spam. If you have any constructive changes you would like to be make, please use WP:EDITREQUEST instead in change "X to Y" format. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 15:36, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
There really isn't much of the article to update excluding last year's activities. If you really want to change something please use the talk pages for suggestions or create an account and reach the edit requirements. Also as Paper9oll said anonymous changes are more often than not vandalization or low quality edits. Solemn Penance (talk) 23:45, 12 May 2023 (UTC)

Protected status should be rolled back

the group is currently active so it doesn't make sense for the page to be protected. With how the cultural is around kpop, any false changes get quickly taken care of. Not because of a wikipedia staff member or user with special privilege getting a system notification but because of a fan of this article noticed the mistake first. Any issues that garnered the protection status of the page does not fit as criteria for the page to be protected now. Even the content of this article is not worthy enough of a protection status that could last several years or indefinitely. Controversial pages are more fitting for such a long protection status. 2600:1014:B070:6749:551B:18B6:9A34:143C (talk) 00:04, 22 September 2023 (UTC)

Requests for decreases to the page protection level should be directed to the protecting admin or to WP:Requests for page protection if the protecting admin is not active or has declined the request. Hyphenation Expert (talk) 00:11, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
You again. You have been told off clearly previously twice (here and here) so drop the stick. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 11:09, 22 September 2023 (UTC)

Their success throughout history has inspired many fans to become idols, and there are many idols now who are idols because of them. Jzheng66 (talk) 02:30, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
