- I believe the general message conveyed in the song was that she "don't like no short dick man".

The famous Mexican Gillettes? edit
"born ... to a Puerto Rican mother and Mexican father". Would that be the well-known Gillette family from Mexico? /s
Of course it is possible for a 'Mexican' [father] to be surnamed "Gillette", but it would be a curiosity. Just as if we were reading about someone with a Russian father by name of 'Willis Johnson'. We would do a double-take and say "Johnson? --Russian?"
Same here: Gillette? --Mexican?
Since Sandra Gillette apparently "... don't want..." me, I don't have the motivation to track down why she carries a last name that is well-known in France, Holland, England, and the USA, but not well-known from Mexico.
