Removed: "This last murder was particularly shocking at the time because of Garnier's intention of eating of the boy on a Friday in defiance of the Catholic doctrine against eating meat on that day." I'm pretty sure that this is not the thing that made eating children particularly shocking. 1573 or 1574? edit
The lead and infobox both date his death 1574, but the article text says 1573 which to me (without checking through links, etc) seems to fit better with his attacks being dated to late 1572. Idontcareanymore (talk) 23:36, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
His wife edit
