American English on this page

edit

To be honest, I think full-on American English suits this page better because this car isn't sold in Europe and is primarily sold in South Korea and America. Plus, a lot of Americanisms outnumber the Britishisms on the page, so I think it's best to change "petrol" to "gasoline". --CarCrazedAlex586 (talk) 18:27, 3 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

As per WP:RETAIN it is advised that English variations should not be changed. Being a vehicle originated from South Korea, which doesn't use English, any English variation should be fine and should be retained. Andra Febrian (talk) 00:07, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

So you are saying that all products that are manufactured outside of the US should have all their specs and measurements reflected in metric on WP? Picard's Facepalm (talk) 05:35, 6 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Picard's Facepalm: @Andra Febrian: is talking about the language variation, basically he is saying that since the car is not produced in a native English speaking country then you shouldn't change the terms/language from one variation to another as per the WP. Well, I also said that the page made use of inconsistent words. There was "petrol" and then there was "liter" and month-day dates. Because those were outnumbering "petrol", which is British, I thought I had to change it to consistent American English, yet one revision showed that Andra was not happy about someone changing it like that earlier. Furthermore, I don't think there is any need to discuss this any further. The consensus is clear. --CarCrazedAlex586 (talk) 16:16, 7 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Are you sure inconsistencies are fine? Please elaborate more on that. CarCrazedAlex586 (talk) 08:49, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Alright, so Picard's Facepalm has come forward and the consensus is that full-on American English is accepted. --CarCrazedAlex586 (talk) 23:11, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
