Talk:Gelato Federation

This article is a stub. I created it based on only the most cursory reading of the available materials on the web. The organization is clearly notabile. However, we need input from an expert. -Arch dude 03:04, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I expanded it as a start. But there's more to do, I just don't have time today. BTW, I'm with Gelato@UNSW, so may be biassed. Also, David Mosberger-Tang may be sufficiently notable for Wikipedia (major linux kernel and open source contributer) PeterC 15:39, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can someone please find a good image of the Gelato logo? The ideal image would be an SVG file thatis clearly described as having an acceptable copyright (CC, CFDL, whatever) so we can upload it to wikimedia commons. -Arch dude 03:45, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

File:Gelato-logo.eps Try this one. It's licensed by Cyrille Carry under the GPL. See http://www.esiee.fr/~carryc/

Gelato: missing and presumed melted edit

The website for this organization looks like it's been abandoned for years. Any attempt to uncover any forums or news updates draws a blank. Other than a 404'ed mention of an early 2008 "many-core workshop," the most recent activity is from April 2007, when Paul Davies announced that he is "Taking Thursday and Friday off - to work on my own stuff," which I hope went well.--NapoliRoma (talk) 17:52, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yup, the organisation is gone. See Gelato@UNSW for our take on it. Wom the Bat (talk) 01:58, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I converted the article to past tense and added the termination notice. -Arch dude (talk) 00:04, 1 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I updated the Gelato Federation entry. I was the managing director of the organization since 2002. We quit activity running the group in late 2007 when funding dried up. --Mksedits (talk) 02:24, 21 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
