could someone please explain to me how this article "is not written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article"? i dont see why.

2019Oct21 - I'd be glad to. For one, the body of the article is not the place to give your opinion on what you think the composer was thinking when he wrote the music. I know Jack Stamp, have spoken with him, and what you said is not what he had in mind when he wrote Gavorkna Fanfare. Secondly, you don't speak about the composition much at all; you spend most of your time talking about what you thought of the composition. Open a book of program notes and see what Stamp said about the piece. For one, he made up the word "Gavorkna." He wrote the fanfare in two days (for Eugene Corporon). Here's the inteview where Stamp called his fictional Gavorkna name "a joke". 2020Feb25 - I fixed the whole article for you. You don't have to keep it, but it's far better than what was there before. I removed the subjective material and added actual music theory in its place.

Gavorkna mistaken with Pastime.

Gavorkna is not Pastime. There are some confusion between the two compositions.
