Gauda is a distinct brach of brahmins which needs a separate article. It is one of the five branches of Panch-Gauda. A merger of Gauda or Panch-Gauda with Brahmin communities is not advisable, because all the branches cannot be described in a single article Brahmin communities. -Vinay_Jha 17:30, 27 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Guda is not sugar (it is jaggery while sharkara is sugar in sanskrit). So removed that from the page and added details of Gauda, a wine or alcoholic beverage. Thanks.--= No ||| Illusion = (talk) 14:18, 30 August 2012 (UTC)MayasutraReply
