Talk:Gate of Alchemy

I added a bit about what is in the Other Side of the Gate in the Anime.

Transmutation with no circle edit

"The alchemist can actually create a circle within themselves by envisioning it in their minds and then activating it with the touching of their limbs; the most common example is a clap of their hands"

I could've sworn I remember someone in the anime saying that you do alchemy with no circle by making a circle with your hands themselves. did I just make this up or can anyone verify this?Ziiv 21:30, 25 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Scar said that when he destroyed Ed's arm.

Speculation:While Alchemists who have seen "the Truth" are capable of creating circles within themselves, most lack the understanding of the knowledge they receive to simply do so without clapping their hands.71.53.82.182 21:55, 8 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

If memory serves Hohenheim of Light never clapped his hands that time when he confronted Dante. Could be wrong.71.53.82.182 21:55, 8 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

^Wrong. When Hohenheim first enters the underground cathedral/theatre (not sure what it is) and Gluttony comes after him, he claps his hands together to perform the Alchemy he used to stave off the Homunculus. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.116.185.196 (talk) 21:28, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Minor editing edit

In the anime section, there was a small part of the third paragraph that sounded like this:

"In the anime that when ed first came to our world by getting sent to this world by dante Hohenheim of Light explains to him that when the people in our world die they become the energy to use alchemy in edds world. Because the power to use it needs more than just a circle. it takes great amounts of energy just to fix one simple radio.because of how alchemy flows equivalent exchange needed."

I edited that part a bit (cleaning up, capitalization, punctuation, etc..), so that the contents would sound more encyclopedic. I ended up with this:

"When Ed comes to Earth, Hohenheim explains to him that when the people on Earth die, they become the energy needed to use alchemy on Amestris. He also explains that in order to perform alchemy, one needs more than just a circle. For example, great amounts of energy are needed in order to fix a simple radio. It is also explained that because of the way alchemy flows, equivalent exchange is needed to perform an alchemical feat."

Please feel free to edit my rendering of those words inside the article, as my English skills might be lacking, as I'm part of a country in which elevated English is not commonly spoken. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.96.175.27 (talk) 22:38, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good edit. Wording could be simplified, but otherwise it was a nice improvement. Rau's talk 23:24, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
