I know of no gamma probes that use G-M tubes; all use either scintillation crystals or CZT (CdxZn1–xTe, aka cadmium zinc telluride) chips.

What market research are you citing? The numbers do not match my personal knowledge of the industry, nor do they match the only 2003 research study I know of:

http://www.themarketechgroup.com/minute/tmtg-min9.pdf

"Estimation of market share: US Surgical, 45%; Neoprobe, 35%; CareWise,15 %. Smaller players include Capintec and Intra Medical."

Co-57 is a calibration isotope and is not used clinically. Na-22 is another calibration isotope (used to calibrate PET probes, which typically detect F-18 in FDG, or Fluorodeoxyglucose).

The original gamma probes were created with GM tubes. The numbers from 2003 are old numbers, 7 years later the market share has changed. Most of this information can be obtained through some basic research for example NEO yearly sales, and yearly market share vs that. The market group research besides that is very basic just a few mere lines of info...

Maybe it is that you work for 1 of these companies and your biased? I have done my extensive research which will be posted and updated. How many of these companies have you heard of before?? Maybe help with info instead of trying to bust it up and hating.. Glumech 17:08, 21 April 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Glumech (talkcontribs)

Did you erase some company info.? I am working really hard to put this together ..!! Glumech 17:11, 21 April 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Glumech (talkcontribs)

I've heard of all of these companies. And I'm helping by adding and correcting info. I'm not sure why you'd accuse me of "busting up and hating"; I'm editing, as editors as supposed to do. No, I didn't delete any company info; I merely corrected the data based on the source cited. I listed every change I made above. It'd be helpful if you'd do the same when editing.Foolsage (talk) 15:55, 6 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you find some "basic market research" then please cite it. More recent numbers would be very welcome, but should be supported.Foolsage (talk) 16:01, 6 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please only list MANUFACTURES not distributors. Crystal probe is already listed under nuclear fields. only 1 per item please! Glumech, 10/19/2010 6:00 PST
