Katakana edit

Let it be known by reverting my edit you are actively misleading English WP readers into believing that the katakana is the JP title when it is in fact not. Maybe this might prompt me to run a consensus over at MOS:ANIME, because surely this would be an open and closed case among the editors with proper explanatory points. Adding katakana that only serves as a subsidiary translation should not belong here. GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 18:07, 23 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you're willing to provide me a rule/guideline that FORBIDS adding the katakana in the lead and infobox, then I'd be happy to restore your edit -- but alas, even I couldn't find such a decree. When you open the Gamera website in new tab on your browser, it includes the Japanese text (as ガメラ リバース) as well as the English one [1]. Anime News Network also lists the Japanese "alternative title" as ガメラ リバース [2]. The Japanese Wiki article also includes the Japanese title (again as ガメラ リバース) in the lead, in addition to the English one -- I was actually emulating the Japanese article's lead. You're right, this is an open and shut case but not the one you're advocating. Armegon (talk) 18:17, 23 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I will once I get a user consensus on the talk page. The thing I'm advocating for will surely become MOS thanks to you. You simply do not understand what I am getting at.--GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 18:20, 23 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't think YOU understand that you contradicted your own argument by citing Black Clover. Exemptions like Black Clover may (not "surely"; jumping the gun there) become MOS thanks to you. Armegon (talk) 18:25, 23 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Because the Japanese katakana is the official title as written in Japan, unlike this article. I didn't contradict anything, you simply lack comprehension skills.--GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 18:27, 23 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I mean... I'm not the one not comprehending the fact that the official website and the Japanese article also use the katakana. Perhaps you're the one lacking comprehension skills. Armegon (talk) 18:32, 23 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I hope you realize if we both keep up at it like this we'll both be blocked for a couple of weeks by an administrator. Let the MOS page speak for itself in due time.--GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 18:33, 23 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
