Information on 4l80e Automatic Transmissions. Please be advised that I changed the "4L80E Transmission" wiki page as to what date this transmission was available as an option on C/K Pickups. I have a 1993 Chevy 4 x 4 with the 7.4L (454 Cu.In.) engine, a "2500 HD". The option sticker in the glove box shows option "MT1"...a 4L80E Transmission. Also: The "GM Transmission" wiki page shows this model of Transmission (4L80E) as being available as an option as far back as 1991. I assume it was 1991 that this model of transmission was available.I base that on the "GM Transmission wiki" page. Admittedly, the info. on that page could also possibly be wrong. However, I am positive that my truck, a 1993 model, does indeed have option "MT1", a 4L80E.

                                                                                     Guitronics (talk) 06:29, 6 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes. I have a 1991 R2500 Suburban with a 6.2L diesel and a 4L80E transmission. They happen. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.20.228.11 (talk) 23:44, 18 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Error in Torque rating on page edit

the 4L80-E is good for a bit more FtLbs than you stated.

A link to GM's own publication.

Conversion for 4L 60 to 4L 80 E edit

04 Chevy Silverado, 5.3 2 Wheel Dr. I have a 99 or 2000 4L 80 E transmission out of an old Penske truck the fluid lines are put real close togather. So I believe it is a older style trans. There wasn’t a torque converter with it. I found a stock one out of an old 4l80e ! what torque converter is recommended. The 5.3L it is freshly rebuilt, turbo, injectors, cam fuel pump intake valve springs have all been upgraded 174.250.210.82 (talk) 02:54, 4 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
