Proposed changes (COI declared) edit

Numbers between information, explanation and references match.

Information to be added or removed:

  1. Change to: "Friends of the Earth is one of 75 national groups around the world"
  2. Suggest deleting everything from "Since July 2008..." to "FOE EWNI is part...". If too drastic, could move still relevant info to history section.
  3. Change to: "FoE EWNI is part of the more than 30 national organisations that Friends of the Earth Europe represents"
  4. Add: "Friends of the Earth (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) leads campaigns, provides resources and information, and identifies solutions to environmental problems."
  5. Add: "It is committed to a flourishing, sustainable, and socially just world. By mobilising a diverse network of people, it works towards each generation enjoying an environment that’s getting better; a safer climate, abundant nature, healthy air, water and food."
  6. Suggest breaking out a subsection to list former/current chief executives, as this is the largest part of the history listed, or deleting. Since 2015 Craig Bennett has been Chief Executive.
  7. Delete: Festivals section

Explanation of issue: Much of the information on this page is out of date or doesn't meet the standards of good wikipedia articles.

  1. Out of date
  2. Out of date and not good summary info for beginning of article
  3. Out of date
  4. Provides info on what Friends of the Earth does currently absent
  5. Provides additional context for how it does that work, and its mission statement
  6. Poor quality content
  7. Written as if advertising, feels out of scope

  1. ^ This part of the edit request proposal requires clarification because the sentence as written is confusing, in that the previous sentence has this figure, or one similar to it, at 75.
  2. ^ This part of the edit request proposal was declined because it promotes the group's activities in a broader sense than what is needed. See WP:PROMO.
  3. ^ Per WP:NOBLECAUSE.
  4. ^ This part of the edit request proposal was declined because the general desire for articles is that prose should be favored in place of lists.
