Inventor and Invention Year edit

This page says that fried coke was "invented" in 2006, but my wife claims to have had it as early as 2004 at a fair in Arizona. It definitely had to be earlier than 2006. I think the claimed "inventor" had it at some fair in Arizona or California, then claimed it for himself. Maybe he authored this page.

On the other hand, considering the publicity it received and the fact that it made the rounds of fairs around the country, including the states mentioned, if it were a stolen idea, there surely would have been a lawsuit by now. Lawikitejana 10:17, 16 July 2007 (UTC
Marty's Fish Shop in Ballarat, Australia, was serving this before 2006. There was an article printed in the Herald Sun about it in early October, 2006 about it. They also did deep fried pizza, and deep fried Mars Bars. Basically, they deep fried everything. --Clarrisani (talk) 02:22, 26 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

calories? edit

The article states 830 calories (3.5KJ). That's only 0.83 food Calories (kcal). I am changing this to kilocalories to be unambiguous, which incidentally is 3,500KJ. Rip-Saw (talk) 01:01, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I changed it to the uppercase Calorie which is most likely what was intended. In food context, it is implied that Calorie (capitalized) is 1 kcal. --Shirik 01:59, 14 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Considering all the empty space, that seems pretty high. A whole freakin' cup of whipped cream is barely 1000 calories. It's not like fried things usually have much of the oil they were fried in, if you do it right it oughtn't absorb any, just a light coating.
A whole freakin' cup of whipped cream has much more air in it than balls of oil-saturated starch.46.109.21.214 (talk) 11:53, 27 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

And yes, I have eaten a whole freakin' cup of whipped cream before. No, not all at once. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.70.113 (talk) 04:19, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

How does one taste the doughnut hole (as in the quote)? Jackiespeel (talk) 16:12, 21 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Jackiespeel: I assume they are referring to this, I'll add a link in the article. Winner 42 Talk to me! 17:44, 21 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
A candidate for an April Fool's Day /general 'er, what?' entry MP entry?
I'm sorry, what? Winner 42 Talk to me! 19:24, 21 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Following on from the previous section - calorie or Calorie here? Jackiespeel (talk) 17:49, 21 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

WP:MOSNUM says to avoid Calorie and use "large calorie" or "kilocalorie" instead, but that does not seem very helpful. So I'm neutral on the subject. Winner 42 Talk to me! 19:24, 21 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

MP - Main Page here - and probably 'most people' would 'assume the correct term.' Jackiespeel (talk) 09:24, 22 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
