No separation

There is no difference between "Freedom, Ohio" and "Freedom Township, Portage County, Ohio", which is why this article was a redirect for several years. Historically they are the same and they have always been governed by the same entity (Freedom Township). The history cited in the article (History of Portage County, 1885) is one I have right in front of me and does not treat the history of the settlement at the center of the township as separate from the township as a whole. It's all mentioned under "Freedom Township", pages 452–459. Further, WP:PRIMARYTOPIC would have this point to the township, not the historic post office, since "Freedom, Ohio" is most likely referring to anywhere in Freedom Township (historically that would be true as well), not the specific undefined "town" at the center of the township. No reason this needs to be a separate article with essentially the same geographic and historic info. The post office info for Freedom and Freedom Station has already been included in the township article. --JonRidinger (talk) 23:57, 6 June 2016 (UTC)

PRIMARYTOPIC

In looking at web searches, it would seem that "Freedom, Ohio" clearly points to Freedom Township, Portage County, Ohio since that's its current name and all the other entries here are places that haven't been known as "Freedom" since the 19th century. Perhaps this page should be moved to Freedom, Ohio (disambiguation) and Freedom, Ohio should again redirect to Freedom Township with a redirect hatnote since it appears to be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC? --JonRidinger (talk) 20:33, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
