Franklin Tanner Pember is an important,, 19th century naturalist and philanthropist who created and donated the Pember Library and Museum to the town of Granville, New York in 1909. He was an important source of botanical and biological specimens to various natural history museums including the Harvard Peabody Museum, the Yale Peabody Museum and the New York Museum of Natural History.
