The article currently introduces McGill as an "allergologist and allergist." I was not familiar with the word "allergologist", so clicked on it, but was taken to allergy, which did not help. A bit of research off of Wikipedia informed me that an allergologist is a scientist who studies allergies, whereas an allergist is a doctor who treats them, so the terms are not quite synonyms; but "allergologist" is rare enough that it's not in a common online dictionary.
Is there some way, in keeping with the principle of least astonishment, that the article could define this somewhat unusual word, instead of sending curious readers to allergy? Can we link to allergologist on Wiktionary, or is that not appropriate in a FA? —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 15:31, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Josiah Rowe: Hey Josiah, this is a pretty late response, but I converted the link to a wiktionary link. If the allergy article actually mentioned what an allergologist actually is, I'd think the redirect would be sufficient, but since it's not even mentioned, I think this is the next best thing. bibliomaniac15 19:15, 13 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
