A family of Scots origin??? edit
No Sirs, I habe doubts. Because: "Moncrif — (spr. Monkriff), François Augustin Paradis de M., geb. 1687 in Paris; war der Sohn des Rechtsgelehrten Paradis u. erhielt den Zunamen M. von seinem Elternvater mütterlicher Seits, einem geborenen Engländer; wurde geheimer Secretär bei dem Grafen… … Pierer's Universal-Lexikon" This means: only one grandfather had Scots origin, the other three grandparents were French.
