Talk:Foreign relations of Georgia (country)

Changing name to: Foreign relations of Georgia edit

I propose changing this article's name to Foreign relations of Georgia. It would make no sense for the state to have foreign relations, thus meaning only one political entity named Georgia can have foreign relations. -- Chxeese (talk) 00:30, 14 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Foreign relations of Georgia (country)Foreign relations of Georgia – The foreign relations are existing already for a country named "Georgia", and not even the U.S State "Georgia". Using a noun to define a country (i mean to say writing the noun "country" alongside with a name) is heavily absurd. No other country, like "Jordan" use "Foreign relations of Jordan (country) or " " of Brunei (country). Anindianboi1905 (talk) 04:27, 30 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Support per WP:OVERPRECISION and WP:CONCISE. This will simply reverse a redirect and restore the title used from 2001 until an undiscussed move in 2020. There is no other article about any other Georgia's foreign relations, so no need for excess disambiguation. Station1 (talk) 06:33, 30 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Support I highly doubt that that the US State has enough significant foreign relationships to cause a level of confusion that would necessitate the use of (county) here.--70.24.248.109 (talk) 01:51, 1 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Addendum on not swapping the talk pages: I am not sure why there came to be two separate talk pages Talk:Foreign relations of Georgia (country) and Talk:Foreign relations of Georgia. Since the talk pages have been left in place even while the article has been moved multiple times in the meantime, I'll just leave them in place too. There is already a notice at the other talk page about the page title discussion here, and that was the only topic discussed at this talk page. Adumbrativus (talk) 06:06, 7 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
