I think the blue car is a Consul II. The original (Mk I) did not have the wrap around rear window. Description changed accordingly.Malcolma 08:40, 4 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mass Units edit

I'm sure that many readers wouldn't even know how "CWT" is spoken, let alone what it's mass value is in metric. For the uninitiated, it's "hundred weight" [c wt, get it?] and is 8 stone or 50.9 Kgs, or thereabouts. I think it's bad form to use imperial units only and both should be quoted.

I agree.
So why didn't you do something about it? No problems: I did. Feel free to improve my "edit".
By the way, who are you?

consul with world globe on front of motorhood edit

Dear readers, I am looking for a photo of the little model of the consul end years 50 beginning years 60 with that half world globe on the front of motorhood. My father had one but I cannot find a good picture. Everyone: Thanks in advance! Greets and a prosperous 2019, Gerard Rorik, Netherlands. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.162.178.42 (talk) 20:53, 1 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

I am as sure as I can be that there never was a Ford Consul with half a globe on the front. There was, however, a Ford Taunus that did have such a decoration. Might you be thinking of that? Success Charles01 (talk) 20:59, 1 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Good day Charles. I guess you must be right, after so many years I thought it was a consul, it s about 50 years ago, and many thanks for your answer and nice photo. Greets, Gerard. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.162.178.42 (talk) 21:10, 2 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

All the Ford Taunus pictures from that size and generation have been (or should have been) included in this category if they are in the Wikipedia collection. Only the earlier ones feature the "Weltkugel" on the front. If you google "Weltkugel Taunus" you may find a wider range of pictures (though they tell me other search engines, with less sinister reputations, are still available...) Groetjes.
