Help edit

I was wondering if there is anyone who would like to help me make this at least a better article.... Thanks. Stealth (talk) 01:05, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

You might want to try asking on an appropriate WikiProject's talk page. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 13:32, 24 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merge Mino proposal edit

I'm proposing that Flip Video Mino be merged here. The Flip Mino isn't substantially different than the Flip Video itself, and is best understood in the context of the main Flip Video article. This will reduce the amount of duplicated information in these two articles. Comments? tedder (talk) 07:23, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

No responses after 5+ days, so I'm merging. tedder (talk) 06:51, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Undid this, I want more talk about it. I disagree with this notion. Stealth (talk)
Can you give some reasons, stealth500? And do you work for Pure Digital? tedder (talk) 15:02, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I personally think that the Flip Video Mino is a large enough subject and does not need to be merged. I will say however that it should be expanded and otherwise given more references. However I think it should stay, or have both the Flip Video Mino and the Flip Video made into 1 large page instead of a page about the Flip Video and a small section about the mino. Does that sound possible? Also, I am not from pure Digital, I simply own a Flip Video and decided to look up the information and make the page. Stealth (talk)
A large enough subject? But it's the SMALLER of the Flip Videos! I am now slapping my knee and laughing silently. Good day. 67.161.21.212 (talk) 01:52, 11 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

(deindenting) My reasoning for wanting to merge them is due to the reasons on the merge guidelines page; there is almost complete overlap between the two pages, and the two products are best understood in the context of each other. In other words, what's the difference between the Flip and the Flip Mino? It's a lot easier to understand the differences when they are on one page. I certainly agree that there should be more information on the Mino (rather than how it is currently, where there's more about the original), but that doesn't seem to be relevant to a discussion about merging. tedder (talk) 18:22, 3 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think that Mino should have it's own article; as well as Flip Ultra. Flip video is a brand name, but Flip Mino is a model in said product line. It's like saying that an article on Chevy Volt should be merged into the article on Chevy. The Mino is a different product than the Ultra and is not the same as flip video, because flip video is a brand name and not an actual product. However, I would draw the line at having a separate article for Mino and MinoHD, because MinoHD is a variant of the Mino. Just look at the structuring of the article iPod. It includes a brief section on every model of iPod; including iPod nano. However, you'll notice that the article iPod nano exists as well. You'll notice that in the main iPod article there is brief writing on the iPod nano, and the iPod nano also says the same info, but goes on to tell more detailed info about the generations of iPod nano, the specs, the lawsuits and the photos of it. A true HD (1080p) quality Flip Video coming out? edit

Does anybody know of any plans for a true 1080p Flip Video to come out? Any plans for a version that can take an SD card? Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.152.45.35 (talk) 00:35, 8 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

No, because the Flip has been discontinued. 82.13.79.52 (talk) 19:13, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Table of Models edit

Cisco have 2 tables of specs for Ultra and Mino. Annoyingly, they do not use the model numbers.

I'm trying to build up a list: Help !

Mino

  • F460 (B-black?)
  • M2120 HDMI 2nd Generation 120mins (M-metal?) (-UK)
  • MP2240 HDMI 2nd Generation 240mins. Does that exist or was it a prototype (the P in MP, perhaps)?
  • M3160 60mins (S-silver?) (-EU) "MinoHD 4GB | 1 hr" (Personalized Silver)
  • M31120 120mins "MinoHD 8GB | 2 hr" (Personalized Black)

Ultra

  • F230 "Ultra 1 hr"
  • F260 60mins "Ultra 1 hr" (W-white B-black P-pink) (-UK)
  • U1120 "Ultra 2 hr"
  • U2120 UltraHD 2nd Generation 120mins (W-white?)
  • U260 2nd Generation 60mins "UltraHD 4GB | 1 hr" (Personalized White Blue Magenta)
  • U32120 (U3120?) 120mins "UltraHD 8GB | 2 hr" (Personalized Black White)

SlideHD

  • V1120 (SlideHD4hr) 120mins "SlideHD 16GB | 4 hr" (Personalized White)

FlipShare TV

  • CTV1W

Is there really a difference between 'Brushed metal', 'Chrome' and 'Silver' ?
Anyone care to add these tables ?
I know I'm late to the game, but hey - they're getting really cheap, but still pretty good.

Checking source blacklisting edit

WOT (World of Trust) and http://sitecheck.sucuri.net can give you feed back on the trustworthiness of sources. There was one blacklisted confirmed spyware site used in the article as a source. WOT doesn't always show a red sign for all blacklisted sites because someone has to care enough to make the report at WOT. The sucuri.net site is more reliable. I'll check a few more sources.
