Floppy, or "Flappy" edit

A couple friends and I had multicartridges for the NES with this game called "Flappy". Are you positive it's Floppy on Apple? The description sounds EXACTLY like the game I'm thinking of except the common boulders are red instead of brown, the green unicorns(?!) are yellow and the butterflies look more like red crabs. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jololli (talkcontribs) 00:37, 24 January 2007 (UTC).Reply

  • I ran an image of Floppy, I'm guessing this came first and was bought up/licensed by Nintendo since the two guys' names are front and center on the title screen.
  • It's also possible this game was known as "Beyond Floppy" Jololli 01:25, 24 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • Definitely Floppy on Apple II, I used to play it quite a bit as a kid. There is also a version for Gameboy called 'Floppy Special'. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Skylarkingnz (talkcontribs) 03:27, 10 May 2007 (UTC).Reply
The Gameboy game appears to be called Flappy Special. Bumm13 08:03, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

FLAPPY is the original game, not the Apple II variant edit

FLAPPY is the original game, not the Apple II variants "Floppy" and "Beyond Floppy". I've done a lot of online research about the Apple II games but have been unable to determine if they were commercially-released games or just homebrew titles. I remember playing Floppy back in 1987, so it's at least that old. Regardless, FLAPPY originated on the Japanese MSX computer line in 1983 (I can't read Japanese but I can read numbers ;). It'd be nice to have more information about the original FLAPPY, but my request for translation has been ignored since I posted it. The Famicom port from 1985 most certainly was a port of the MSX version, but again, more information is needed. Bumm13 07:47, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have played a ported NES version on the Gameboy Advance. Exactly as the article describes you must push a blu block to a blue tile by lineing up brown blocks while avoiding enemies. Every five levels there is a bonus level where flappy can get points by running into enemies. After the bonus level a password is provided. By pressing select on the title screen it brings up a password screen that can bring you to the level before a bonus level. First password is 4Nada and the second password is OMARI or OMAR1 is i remember correctly Cillian flood (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:10, 29 August 2010 (UTC).Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Flappy.png edit

Image:Flappy.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
