Some of the content on this page seems to have been copied and pasted from http://www.uscg.mil/history/webcutters/First_Cutters.asp ; even though the USCG site is theoretically in the public domain ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Public_domain#U.S._government_works ) and is not copyrighted, it's not explicitly stated. Yes it is explicitly stated. The USCG's privacy page states clearly that Information presented on this web site in the non-logged in domain is considered public information and may be distributed or copied.[1] There are scores of articles on wikipedia that incorporate text from the USCG website so it's well established practice here to use this material. That is correct. The general information of USCG website is in the public domain, so there is no copyright vio here. But please remember to add in-line citations for the source -- even when its public domain information. As well, pages with PD information should be tagged, usually using one of the templates from Wikipedia:Template messages/Sources of articles.
