Fisebase states a different pH than what is cited.

They change colour to look like a convict cichlid if they start to fight. Anyone have any references to cite for it?

I have also observed this. Not only when they start to fight (mine never fought), but as an indicator of some emotion like fear or aggression. I marveled at the fish's ability to change its colouring and pattern quickly, much like an octopus. ~Anachronist (talk) 15:41, 5 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
