The neck is flattened from before backward edit

This is gibberish. What is it supposed to be in English? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.68.94.86 (talk) 15:54, 11 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

A non-expert's confusion edit

"The femur neck is a flattened pyramidal process of bone, connecting the head with the body, and forming with the latter a wide angle opening medialward."

I am no anatomy expert, but why does the opening sentence of this entry talk about connecting a head with a body, when in fact we're talking about a hip joint?

Thanks. Mathgirl3 (talk) 11:48, 16 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

That sentence is referring to the head of femur and body of femur. The femur neck forms part of the hip joint (i.e. it is located within the capsule of hip joint.
