I edited the second paragraph to mention the actual length of Eithun's prison sentence. I also removed the sentence about possible motives for the crime as I felt it wasn't NPOV.68.23.148.133 01:20, 9 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Category? edit

We need to change this guy's category. He isn't a victim of an LGBT hate crime: He's a murderer. 70.59.196.16 22:13, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chronology edit

"Eithun was convicted of murdering a homosexual man in Lillehammer, Norway on the 21st of August, 1992. The victim was found stabbed multiple times with a knife, and the murder occurred near a park that had held the opening ceremonies of the 1994 Winter Olympic Games.

I find it very unlikely that the opening ceremonies took place almost one and a half years ahead of the events of the 1994 Winter Olympic Games... One (or both) of the dates must be wrong. -- x-Flare-x{Talk) 15:11, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

NPOV edit

The whole section on the murder seems biased and apologetic.

As for the claim of "sexual assault", it seems far-fetched. I do not have the written judgement here, but as far as I can remember, it is undisputed hat Eithun and the victim met centrally in Lillehammer and agreed to "take a walk" together in the nearby woods. The victim was later found with I believe 37 stab wounds and severe head wounds, probably from being kicked in the head. The comments from other people who never were there seems irrelevant. Of course Eithun was a young man at the time, and he has paid off his crime by serving his sentence. However, there is no reason for Wikipedia to carry an article which can be read as an attack on an innocent dead man's reputation. I believe the verdict connects the murder with Eithuns beiefs and general attitudes at the time, and to state that Black Metal has nothing to do with the murder, seems childish. I also believe Eithun's conviction was for arson and robbery beside the murder.

As for the notion of black metal being unconnected to the murder being "childish" - I'm sure that is plausible considering that I could name one murder which occured through involvement in something that could hardly seem to inspire such actions. Besides, the article simply accounts for what certain people have said, it's not taking sides. I'm removing the message Dark Prime (talk) 22:20, 3 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Church burnings edit

I'm taking out the sentence claiming Eithun burned a church with Varg and Euronymous, as there is no physical evidence linking them to the crime, as well as no statements linking them to it that have not been retracted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.77.51.161 (talk) 16:18, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Euronymous also never took part in churches burnings himself 62.99.176.46 (talk) 00:04, 14 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
