This page will have multiple (>2) topics it needs to disambiguate. rhyre (talk) 16:23, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

What topics need to be disambiguated? Is there a primary topic? If no, then this page should redirect to Fast Five. --Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 16:25, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Right. What exactly is trying to be accomplished here? I saw both the disambig pages, and I'm confused by the end goal. — Timneu22 · talk 16:26, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

There is a very simple way to take care of this. move Fast Five (2011) to Fast Five, delete useless "Fast Five (2011)" and this page, and then put a WP:HATNOTE to Fast & Furious and Dan Auerbach (though I don't see any mention of this name at that page). --Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 16:38, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I moved the 2011 content to Fast Five. I think things are almost straightened out. What a mess. — Timneu22 · talk 17:22, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Dan Auerbach and the fast five Use of WP:HATNOTE edit

I'm not sure how the Auerbach/Fast Five connects to the use of WP:HATNOTE, since the "Fast Five" seems to still be around, but separate from Auerbach. More YouTube videos need to be uploaded for 2010, it would seem. I'm not an expert in that part of the music scene. rhyre (talk) 17:32, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Marking edits as in progress - What's the best way? edit

I'd like recommendations for marking up a series of articles as "in progress - don't pounce just yet". I've tried all three scenarios in the past, creating all the referenced articles, then the disambiguation page. Also tried creating the disambiguation page, then the articles. It seems like the "movie fanboys" (who post with an IP address, and never read the talk pages) and experienced editors (who post using their ID, and prefer to speak using Wikipedia jargon and tagspeak) are creating an environment where there isn't much leeway for changes to articles. (I realize I'm overgeneralizing here, but I'd appreciate some advice). I could also try editing the three articles at once, using the preview mode, but that's cumbersome as well. rhyre (talk) 17:32, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

One of the best ways to make a series of major edits to pages is to make a copy to a subpage of your userpage (a sandbox of sorts), where you can work on the article until you have it just the way you want, and then you can copy the content back into the mainspace at the right page. Just make sure that you don't need to do any history merges after by moving things to their correct place using the move tool. --Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 18:13, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
