Talk:Expansion Pak/Archive 1

Most citations have suffered link rot, so I can't see for myself whether they are true. Of course, I own a Nintendo 64 and a few of these games as well as an Expansion Pak, but my word isn't Nintendo's. -Ethd (talk) 18:24, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Complete list

I added a bunch of games. I think it's close to complete, though I'm fairly sure Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 supported the expansion pak, but I can't find a reference. Ace of Sevens 01:13, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

I know of a few other games that I'm 90% sure make use of the Expansion Pak (such as Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage). I also suspect there were a few games that make no mention of using the Pak but will use it automatically if it's detected. I can't remember any of the ones I suspected of this from ages ago but I do remember a few games seemed to look better after I'd bought the Pak even though there was nothing about it being utilized in their manuals.Xyex (talk) 08:13, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

More pictures

A picture of the device plugged into the console would be interesting. Drutt 22:29, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

When it's installed it's hidden completely under the cover just by the cartridge slot. If you take that cover off, you'd see the red top part of the pak. Don't really see a need for more pics :) MGCooke 02:54, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Well, at least one could see where this goes. vlad§inger tlk 01:48, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Backwards Compatbility Issues?

Space Station Silicon Valley does not work properly with an expansion pak in the console. I think this warrants note so that people don't discard the jumper. Also, I'd wager that there are other games that suffer similar issues. -Plasticbadge (talk) 18:14, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Diddy Kong Racing

Apparently, despite the fact that the Expansion Pak icon isn't on the packaging, Diddy Kong Racing uses some of the features of the Expansion Pak. I personally haven't played Diddy Kong Racing in the past with an Expansion Pak in my N64 to notice any differences, but I have recently noticed in my Expansion Pak emulated Project 64 that Diddy Kong Racing takes advantage of the 640x480 screen resolution unlike Donkey Kong 64, an Expansion Pak required game (which uses other features, instead of the higher resolution). I just want to know if anyone's noticed this, and should we add Diddy Kong Racing to the list? -Mega Man 5 6 September 2008 (UTC)
