Promotional singles edit

@Anonpediann: I may be wrong, but I don't understand how these don't qualify as singles when "All We Have Is Love" has been released as a separate single on iTunes, and not just a track available from the album ahead of the release date. I don't understand the problem with "promotional singles". If we don't include those, than what's left? Sure, there's "On Purpose" which was released earlier, but it seems fairly arbitrary to claim that's a single and the new ones are not. In fact, Template:Infobox album#Template:Singles states: "The {{Singles}} template may be used as a miscellaneous addition to the infobox providing concise information about songs on the album that were released as singles during the marketing and promotion of the album."

Now, there is the issue of people claiming things as "singles" which were never released as a single, just part of the album, and a music video release later is considered as a "single" by some, which is incorrect. But that's not the case here. I was prepared to possibly get proven wrong, but it seems the template documentation agrees with me. nyuszika7h (talk) 19:04, 25 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sorry if my edit made you a little uncofortable. First, i don't SHOUT because i think it gives my words more imporance, i just had my cap locked by accident *lol*. What you copy-pasted doesn't mean a thing. What i found important and relevant here was this "For complex release scenarios where it may not be obvious that a single was released as part of the marketing and promotion of the album on which it appears, seek consensus on the talk page for the album"."All We Have Is Love" has been released as an instant grat on iTunes as will "Run and Hide" and "Thumbs", but that doesn't make them a single. There's no source regarding the songs being released as SINGLES (which is has a more complex marketing a distribution campaign). Examples: "I'll Show You by Justin Bieber, Purpose (2015) or "Me & the Rhythm" by Selena Gomez, Revival (2015) had been released as PROMOTIONAL singles, the first one even had a music video and both charted but they were not sended to radio like "Sorry" or "Hands To Myself" or properly promoted as the record label would if they were actual singles. This songs are not listed in the infobox and it has been like that since i first started editing here. I can give you more examples if you want or we can ask an admin. Hope you understand and agree with me. Thank you.Anonpediann (talk) 21:55, 25 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
(FYI, I didn't see your reply before reverting.) WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is not a valid argument. Yes, there is a source for it being released as a single, as I have told you repeatedly: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/all-we-have-is-love-single/id1154200585nyuszika7h (talk) 21:22, 27 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Anonpediann: Pinging again because I typoed your username. nyuszika7h (talk) 21:22, 27 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
That lik doesn't mean anything, a promotional singles can be released on iTunes alone as well. Promotioal singles AREN'T on infobox. If you keep trying to validate your nonsense argument, i'll call an admin. Who do you thing you are to change rules now and to write blocking advice in my talk page? Not an admin, for sure.Anonpediann (talk) 22:14, 27 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
First, tell me, what kind of "proof" do you need that a single is "official", if that is not sufficient? Second, the templte documentation makes it pretty clear that such "promotional" singles should be included. The burden is on you to prove otherwise. nyuszika7h (talk) 14:29, 28 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Anonpediann: Oops, I keep typing your username wrong... nyuszika7h (talk) 14:30, 28 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
nyuszika7h You seem to be the only one who agrees with adding promotional singles to the infobox and, as AN ADMIN said " In the age of iTunes, when any song can be released and sold as a stand-alone recording, we have to be clear what it means to release a single.". Stop re-adding them or i'll call an admin to stop all this nonsense. You can't prove you're right because you're not. Anonpediann (talk) 18:06, 29 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Anonpediann: I'm not going to re-add them anymore per the comment at WT:ALBUMS as it seems there's no clear project consensus on the inclusion of those, so I can understand that it's better to leave them out in doubt. I didn't even know nor does it matter that the person is an admin, as Wikipedia is not a bureaucracy. You should tone down your comments a bit though, at this point it's a borderline personal attack. nyuszika7h (talk) 18:38, 29 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
nyuszika7h I know you do all this in good faith but things have been like that since forever. Try to change in any album the singles' infobox and see what happens if you keep thinking you're right. Sorry if i made you feel unconfortable. I just try to do my best but we all make mistakes :) Anonpediann (talk) 17:12, 30 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

For the record, it seems "All We Have Is Love" is no longer available for purchase as an individual single, only as a song from the album. The page is still there if you follow the link, but there's no price listed. nyuszika7h (talk) 10:45, 1 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

EVOLutionEvolution (Sabrina Carpenter album) – This should be moved per WP:NCCAPS and WP:MOSMUSIC. There is no information in the article about the meaning of the album's title, let alone why "VOL" are capitalized. The edit histories/page moving between these two titles and Evolution (Sabrina Carpenter Album) and EVOLution (Sabrina Carpenter album) are a mess. Aspects (talk) 05:08, 28 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Strong support putting this kind of stylism in WP:TITLEs is detrimental to readers and stylisms are not consistent on the web, https://www.amazon.com/Evolution-Sabrina-Carpenter In ictu oculi (talk) 09:27, 28 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
    • I definitely agree. I originally created this page under the proposed title and I honestly didn't want it to be moved to EVOLution. However, if we need to add the meaning of why EVOL is capitalized, Sabrina has stated multiple times that she capitalized it because it is "love" backwards, and she put a lot of love into the album when making it.
