Image Misidentification

This image was misidentified as Eva Crocker. See The joys and downfalls of being part of a writing family and ‘Sizzling debut’ a portrait of millennial St. John's. Does anyone know who the speaker in the image is? // sikander { talk } 13:02, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

I'm afraid I can't identify her either — she does admittedly look a bit like Eva's mother, Lisa Moore, but most recent author photos of Lisa Moore have her looking much more visibly in her 50s than this, so I'm not prepared to call that. And while I can't see the front cover to determine what book this author is reading from, I can also verify that the back cover of Barrelling Forward — Eva's current and only published book, so very definitely the book she would have to have been reciting from at an Eden Mills reading — is definitely not green. (And neither is the back cover of Flannery, Lisa Moore's most recent book that she would have been reading from.)

I took a shot at the Eden Mills website, to see if I could figure it out by looking at the "participating writers" bios from 2017, but it looks like they've already removed that content in preparation for the upcoming one (even the dedicated "2017 Festival" page is now just a blank placeholder), and I can't seem to find a complete list of participants anywhere else on Google either. And I just checked their Facebook page as well — and they have this exact photo in their "2017 festival" photo album because the same Flickr photographer uploaded it to there too, but in the ultimate annoyance to end all annoyances, everybody has completely failed to tag who it is there either. And the fact that the Flickr photographer does have the photo tagged as Eva Crocker isn't definitive in and of itself, because he also has this photo of Zoe Whittall mistagged as "James Bow" — and if you follow the tag, there's another photo of James Bow, also from the 2017 festival, which plainly verifies that no, James Bow hasn't suddenly come out as transgender. So what this tells us is that not all of his photos are tagged correctly.

I note, however, that you were the original uploader of the photo to Commons — so if we can't figure out who it is, would you have any objection to maybe just listing the image for deletion? We can always reupload it again at a later date if we can actually solve the mystery. Bearcat (talk) 17:31, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

@Bearcat: Thank you for the attempt at identification. I've nominated the two files for deletion. Daniel Harasymchuk has been incredibly helpful in providing images for author pages here and I emailed him about this photo a few days ago. He went through his notes and found that Eva Crocker was supposed to be talking in this time slot in the 2017 schedule. There must've been a scheduling change for some reason.
