Shift in views : 2007 edit

A number of commenters at Volokh Conspiracy have noted a recent adjustment in EV's tone and subject matter. Specifically, EV has been more vocal and absolutist regarding an individual right to bear arms (both before and after the VA Tech tragedy). He has also shown an increased willingness to both address and adopt substantially partisan viewpoints, especially concerning the debate on the war in Iraq, gun control, and mainstream media liberal bias.

I will collect the relevent cites from commentary on VC and other blogs as necessary. I wanted to note this now in case this adjustment continued or increased such that his views as discussed in the article needed to be updated.

Source edit

A source that might be useful for improving the article is The Volokh Conspiracy Is Out To Get You—And Everyone in America, a long-form article on Volokh and his eponymous blog, published in Tablet Magazine, 3 April 2014. Cheers. N2e (talk) 15:35, 4 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

HCSSiM!! edit

I have added to the "Early Life" section the important fact that Volokh is an alum of the prestigious Hampshire College Summer Studies in Mathematics. Goblinshark17 (talk) 21:50, 21 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Correct! I was there with him (summer 1979). A point of trivia is that he was the youngest person ever to attend. Newyorkbrad (talk) 07:25, 22 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Eugene Volokh edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Eugene Volokh's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Volokh":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 11:21, 22 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Computer Software edit

Is this the same guy who created MPEX for the HP3000 as well as published the 'Burn Before Reading' article on HP3000 holes in security? Jokem (talk) 21:50, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Don't know, and Wikipedia Talk pages are not a forum, so not really a good place to discuss it. However, if you have a source that shows Volokh involvement with other academic or career projects, please list it, as this Talk page is about improving the biography of this person. Request for minor correction edit

Dear Editors: I am no longer an academic affiliate at Mayer Brown LLP, but am now at Schaerr | Jaffe LLP, see https://www.schaerr-jaffe.com/eugene-volokh. My understanding is that posting a comment such as this is the proper way for the subject of an article to ask for a modification; my apologies if I have erred on that. Many thanks,

Eugene Volokh EugeneVolokh (talk) 17:55, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Done I have made the addition of the Schaerr Jaffe affiliation. We don't have a source that you are no longer an affiliate at Mayer Brown, or being careful about the source in the article, that you were an affiliate at Mayer Brown after 2018. So if you have such a source, preferably a secondary source that clarifies the transition, or date that ended, please add it here and someone can try to clarify that information. Also, a good source that you are an "academic affiliate" at Schaerr Jaffe would be helpful, as the SJ website merely shows you have some sort of affiliation with Schaerr Jaffe, as implied by your bio there.
And yes, a comment on this Talk page such as you left it above is exactly the best way for you to suggest a correction to this article, per our WP:COI policy. Thanks for that! N2e (talk) 00:19, 16 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
