This is an edited table from the list of espionage organizations in the espionage article. Organizations that are purely analytical, domestic, or counterintelligence only were excluded. Creating this article is part of an effort to bring more rationality to the set of HUMINT articles, moving fiction to other articles in order to keep size reasonable and focus specific.

I am working on an article about clandestine human sources, which deals more with techniques, and also deals with the blurred line between HUMINT and offensive counterintelligence.

While I haven't decided on a good name for it, I want to keep espionage separate from clandestine military deep reconnaissance/special reconnaissance/long-range reconnaissance etc., and those separate from reconnaissance by things that fly, float, or submerge.Howard C.
