Can anyone stop Jameslawrence19 from constantly changing Erik Stocklin's birthdate to 1989? Erik Stoklin was born in 1982. One source was a voter registration that showed his age and this link, from WTOP and the Associated Press https://wtop.com/government/2017/09/today-in-history-1342/ that state that he is 35 years old. Y'all can discuss changes here, now. You know what is required-- reliable sources for any changes. Let the discussion begin!Dlohcierekim (talk) 21:41, 10 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Comment The page has been changed numerous times by an account which has only made edits to this article. Those changes have not been in line with sources contained within the article and no other source has been provided. There has been no edit summary to explain the changes either. Attempts to dissuade the editor concerned to cease this activity have seemingly failed. They have yet to engage with others. As it stands, the page is now fully-protected again but the information is not in line with the sources. I have therefore made an edit request.
@Paige Matheson: Who may wish to add to the discussion.

It's one user who keeps changing the age, even though there are sources for the age. I've tried discussing it on their talk page, they just ignore it. Thank you. Paige Matheson (talk) 23:51, 18 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Dlohcierekim: in cases like this it might be worth blocking the edit warrior and leaving the article unprotected — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 06:27, 19 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

@MSGJ: What user? I'm for bed. You may want to report them to the appropriate notice board. If I'm no longer online, I can unprotect when I'm awake if y'all feel it is time. (No way I can see the page history. Shoulda gone to bed a hour ago.)Dlohcierekim (talk) 06:36, 19 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
I've blocked Jameslawrence19 for a week. Good night! — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 06:39, 19 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) (x3) @MSGJ: Thanks for making the changes. I perhaps should have noted that Dlohcierekim protected the page in the first instance (10 October) but not on 18 October. (There have also been identical edits from IPs). Eagleash (talk) 06:43, 19 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Is semi protection worth a try now? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 06:45, 19 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Now it's not just one editor? I just unprotected the page. If it still needs PP, please report at WP:RFPP. Good night to you all.Dlohcierekim (talk) 06:46, 19 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Pinging Oshwah so that he/she is aware — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:18, 19 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I pinged Osh, but think it got lost in edit conflicts! Eagleash (talk) 07:29, 19 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi! Thanks for the ping! Awesome - it looks like the matter is resolved. Dlohcierekim - thanks for unprotecting the page and removing the gold lock from the gate :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 07:32, 19 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Protected edit request on 18 October 2017 edit

Change DoB in infobox and lead from 1989 to 1982 in line with sources cited. Change date of graduation in "Early life and career" from 2010 to 2007 in line with sources. Eagleash (talk) 21:45, 18 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Agree with Eagleash. There are sources that Jameslawrence19 ignores. Paige Matheson (talk) 23:53, 18 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I'll remove it. Do you know if the person who uploated it, User:Ffion Lewis, has done this with other images? If so, he/she should be reported to administrators. -- Ssilvers (talk) 04:06, 25 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

child's name edit

How do I stop the person with the username “meters” from removing the name of Erik and Colleen’s child? They keep deleting it whenever someone adds it and commenting “we do not need the names of unnotable children” or something along those lines. Change something if it’s incorrect. Taking the name out isn’t helpful in anyway. <PA redacted> Kiccik (talk) 00:51, 1 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

As I said in the edit summary per WP:BLPNAME we don't name non-notable children. It's a privacy issue. We don't normally list names and birthdates of non-notable children. If you had read the link you would have understood. The exact section is Biographies of living persons#Privacy of names. "The presumption in favor of privacy is strong in the case of family members of articles' subjects". I don't think the child's name is "relevant to a reader's complete understanding of the subject". If you think it is then please justify that position. Meters (talk) 01:19, 1 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
I agree that the child's name should *not* be stated. -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:34, 1 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

The child’s name should stay in the article. His Mother, Colleen Ballinger uses his name on Twitter and Instagram. There’s also the fact that his Mother makes YouTube videos everyday with her son in the video, and uses his name. It’s ridiculous to site a privacy issue, when his own Mother makes videos about her son and states his name repeatedly. Paige Matheson (talk) 23:39, 9 February 2020 (UTC)"Reply

Per WP:BLPNAME, Wikipedia articles should not contain the names of non-notable children of living subjects. -- Ssilvers (talk) 02:16, 10 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
